The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has ended its collection of flood water samples in the Moose Lake and Barnum areas. This is because the two most recent water test results indicate bacterial levels have fallen below the levels considered unsafe for human contact. We do not anticipate any change in this situation or have any reason to believe the numbers would rise above unacceptable levels.
If you have questions about safe water recreation or contact, visit the Minnesota Department of Health’s web site at www.MNBeaches.org. If you have questions about how to safely handle household goods, solid waste or hazardous materials affected by floodwater, visit the MPCA’s web site at www.pca.state.mn.us.
